**Summary**:
The primary focus of the Validation Engineer (Change Owner) is to create new documentation and follows archiving and change process control for all Thermo Fisher Scientific engineering data.
The position collaborates closely with the Engineering department, Product Lifecycle Manager (PLM), R&D, Manufacturing, Logistics, Purchasing, Quality, and Global Technical Service (GTS) groups within MSD and suppliers to archive and maintain engineering data throughout the product lifecycle.
**Key responsibilities** include, but are not exclusively:
- Proceed selected engineering changes during Product Lifecycle Management
- Provides impact analysis of Engineering Change Requests affecting multiple products over different sites
- Creates implementation plans for assigned ECOs and tracks them to conclusion
- Supports Global Operations & Global Technical Service with product issues and/or ECO implementation as necessary
- May participate on Change Review Boards, review of implementation plans for engineering changes to ensure plans have a positive financial impact and minimum disruption to Factories and Service and acts as a change owner
- Ensures that ECO process Work In Progress, cycle time and other targets are being met within their scope of activity
- Facilitates and lead multi-functional improvement and other Operations project from inception to completion.
- Acts as an advisor and role model to peers and project resources to resolve technical related problems
- Develops close relationship with Manufacturing, Logistics, Sourcing, NPI/SPR Engineering, GTS PLM, Quality and R&D to adequately resolve technical documentation conflicts
- Ensure that activities are carried out according to the principle of “Customer focus in all that we do”
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical (mechanical or electrical) field, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills
- Typically requires 2+ years of CAD experience and drafting in an engineering/manufacturing environment
- Ability to create and coordinate Engineering Change implementation scenarios
- Coordination and leading small project teams in product and process improvements
- Ability to plan and resolve issues that involve gaining collaboration of multi-functional, multi-cultural groups and sites without damaging relationships
- Product/Module knowledge enabling full understanding of EC context
- Experience working in a high-tech industry and/or a manufacturing environment
- Understanding of product cost structure and cost consequences of an engineering change
- Must have ability to obtain a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as required (up to 25% of working time)
- English and local language (verbal and in writing)
- Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
