Uap Manager
**UAP Manager function**
The role of a UAP Manager is to efficiently manage the UAP, implement the FES and FCP within the production and use all resources in the most efficient way.
- Manage the project and the production.
- Coordinates all activities regarding production planning, receiving of materials, production processing, supplying, maintenance and technology in working operations/sections in order to achieve quantity and quality of produced volumes which meet the plant targets and customer demands.
- Regularly checks and coordinates achieving or required quality and S/R standards.
- Manage the budget of the UAP and all relevant costs, focus on cost reduction and efficiency.
- Secures that relevant norms are respected and required maintenance and reparation are done.
- Ensures the continuous production and co-ordination with linked departments.
- Employee is informed about Code of Ethics, Code of Management and Being Faurecia philosophy and is respecting and following it
- Employee informs all his Supervisors and GAP Leaders about Code of Ethics, Code of Management and Being Faurecia philosophy and ensures, so that they are respecting and following it
**QCDP Performance**:
- Make sure QCD indicators reflect customer expectations
- Commits to targets agreed during PIC/PDP process (Direct Labour headcount, shift organization, overtime, delivery schedules, pph, )
- Define, for each supervisor, QCDP targets (improvement versus actual situation): ppm, pph, TRS, absenteeism, number of accidents, improvement ideas
- Monitor results on a shift basis and report accurate data daily and especially during the plant management Top 5
- Manage resources to reach results: adapt headcount to volume (number of people, number of shifts), optimize equipment usage (TRS)
- React in case of a problem: take care of immediate containment, call support functions if necessary, build corrective action plans
- Drive actions for improvement:
- Know team problems, seek feedbacks
- Define area for performance improvements
- Drive teamwork and problem-solving activities, lead Problem Solving Groups and workshops (5S, Hoshin, TPM, SMED, 8 Quality Basics )
- In cooperation with the PSE coordinator optimize UAP lay-out and material flow
- Drive improvement ideas process
- Build and meet the UAP budgeted manufacturing costs, report them monthly
- Ensure manufacturing readiness for new products launched in UAP (line preparation, team training, target definition, specs fine tuning, )
- Participate to early steps in new product launches
- Define threshold and escalation of reaction modes to problems within his UAP
**People Management**:
- Leading by example in terms of rigor and discipline, assure daily management and development of subordinates
- Close management of production through presence on the shopfloor (50% of time attendance approx.) and daily management of the supervisors
- Strict control of headcount on a daily basis
- Coach supervisors in how to perform their role
- Support and help to solve problems
- Coordinate activities of support functions (problem solving, continuous improvement)
- Ensure discipline and rigor (work wear, break times, working hours )
- Ensure the respect of safety instructions, policies and procedures
- Coach Supervisors on how to better solve problems and how to devote 70% of their time to improvement actions
- Define staffing needs for UAP
- Participate to selection and recruitment of staff
- Ensure proper induction of newcomers
- Define training plan to increase team autonomy; ensure training and coaching of team members
- Manage annual performance interviews for all direct reports
- Plan development of the people (validation and support from Plant Manager and Human Resources Manager when appropriate): training, job evolution
- Define the UAP strategy in term of polyvalence
- Ensure recognition upon individual performance: propose promotion and merit increase; take part of the decision process
- Ensure proper flow of information to and from direct reports: top 5, regular information meetings, rapid cascade of critical information and of messages from management
**Health safety**, fire protection **and environmental protection** **(HSE**)**:
- Ensure compliance with safety rules, fire protection and environmental protection
- In the case of danger to life or serious damage to employees health immediately stop the machine
- Core control the activities of HSE management system and implementation of the corrective measures
- Drive improvements in working conditions and ergonomics in the workplace
- Implementation secure and maintain the system in the range of HSE legal requirements and ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
- Provide training subordinates
- Participate in the implementation of the objectives and policies respecting HSE
**Team work**:
- Ensure transparent timely communication with plant manager and other UAP managers
- Participate to the continuous improvement of Plant performance
