We are a well-established company, specializing in developing world-leading game-based military simulations for major NATO powers and their allies. Our mission is to advance the entire industry by leveraging the latest technologies and trends, including whole-world simulation, virtual reality, motion tracking, and AI.
We are looking for a Technical Writer for our Documentation team based in Prague. There is also the possibility to work from our office in Kosice.
**Description**:
Technical Writers are responsible for the production and maintenance of customer facing product documentation, delivered as manuals in multiple output formats in product installations, and online behind the customer portal.
**Key Areas of Responsibility**:
- Provide technical writing services for product manuals and resources.
- Create concise, accurate, and user-focused manuals and resources including online and offline manuals.
- Quickly and accurately write, revise, and proof content that satisfies the goals and requirements of Department Managers and current projects.
- Learn the product-line to an advanced user level.
- Liaise with product teams to help maintain internal technical documentation relating to rapidly developing features and technology.
- Work with other departments to assist with the production of other materials such as in-game tutorial content and classroom based training materials.
- Integrate other department materials into documentation as appropriate.
**Objectives**:
- Communicate the purpose and use of our products to end users in a concise and precise manner, to facilitate a deep understanding of the usage, capabilities, and limitations of our products.
- Create and deliver product documentation in a timely fashion, aligned with the product release schedule.
**Skills**:
- Outstanding written and spoken English.
- Ability to edit quickly and accurately in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to conceptualize and create content based on general guidelines.
- Copy editing for format, grammar, clarity, etc.
- Ability to coordinate, organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Able to perform work with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to coordinate efforts with other department leads.
- Ability to understand complex modeling and development concepts.
**Education and Experience**:
- College degree or equivalent industry experience.
- Familiarity with typical software development processes.
- Experience with document authoring and content management tools.
**Additional Attributes**
- Familiarity with BISimulations product-line or the training and simulations industry.
- Experience with Madcap, JIRA, and Confluence products
- Experience in web / software development, scripting, and testing.
**Travel**
- Not typically required
