Technical Designer - Medior/senior

**About us**
Bohemia Interactive Simulations is a software development company leading in the field of military training simulations. We work with the latest technologies like VR and whole-world simulation. We provide simulators to major NATO powers and their allies. Our training solutions enable our end users to run their training safely and cost-effectively. We have offices all over the world, with the majority of our development being done in our largest office in Prague.
**The role**
The core responsibility of the role is to understand the training use cases - how is our software used and how it provides value to the customer. The main responsibility of the technical designer is to take end-user requirements and turn them into feature designs and development plans. In this role, you will be working in a cross-functional team with mostly QA engineers and C++ developers.
**What would your day-to-day work as a technical designer look like**:
- Designing gameplay features that meet real-world training requirements
- Researching how existing technology can be leveraged in the development of new features
- Reviewing feature designs and implementation plans with stakeholders and developers
- Coding new features with the rest of your team
**What we expect from you**:
- Our main expectation from you is that you are self-driven with good communication, you must be able to communicate complex design elements to the team as well as internal and external stakeholders
- We expect you to take ownership of the projects you’ll be working on and ensure throughout the development process that they satisfy the needs of the customer
**Required Skills (must have)**:
- Good communication skills
- Planning feature development
- Use case analysis
- Coordinating with programmers, stakeholders, UX designers, artists, etc.
- Basic coding skills to support development
**Extra credit (nice to have)**:
- Knowledge of military technology and operations
- Experience with modding games (especially the Arma series)
- The ability to quickly prototype new features
