Technical Architecture Specialist

**Responsibilities**:
**Architecture**
- Collecting and transforming business and technical information from a diverse set of sources into a structured architecture model using tools such as Visio.
- Developing reports and views against this model to answer stakeholder questions and enable technology decision-making.
**People & Team**
- Researching and understanding business and technical capabilities and contributing to the learning and development of the larger team.
**Technology**
- Assisting in the evaluation of technologies to determine business fit.
- Advocating for the use of existing reusable technologies and patterns.
- Documenting technology decisions using an evidence-based approach.
**Community**
- Assisting in the operation of the enterprise architecture team and contribute to the advancing of the architecture discipline across the enterprise.
- Advocating for common and standard architecture practices and helping teams identify and leverage processes, tools, and templates developed by the architecture community.
**Skills**:
**Requirements definition and management**
- Uses standard techniques to elicit, specify, and document business and technical requirements in a structured and organized manner.
- Assists in the categorization, prioritization, traceability and summarization of requirements.
**Research**
- Assists in selection and review of credible and reliable resources related to business and capabilities technologies, patterns, and solutions.
- Contributes to the authoring of publication-quality material such as position statements, whitepapers, roadmaps, announcements, and marketing & communications materials.
**Business Modeling**
- Understands the purpose and benefits of modelling and the is familiar with tools and technologies that can be used to capture structured architecture information, including diagramming tools such as Visio, computer aided software engineering (CASE) tools, and modeling tools.
- Able to gather information about business processes, technologies, requirements and associated relationships and translate this into a structured documents and deliverables.
**Software Design**
- Contributes to the design of components of larger software systems.
- Understands design, coding, testing, and documenting software and development lifecycle methodologies.
**Foundational**
- Collaborates with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Operates effectively on a diverse and high performing team.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor both long-form and presentation-level materials for the target audience.
