SW Engineer
Pursuing the highest quality of all SUSE products and openSUSE is one of our core beliefs. We are passionate about open source and we are looking for team members who share this passion and want to improve the quality of SUSE Enterprise Linux Server and openSUSE to the next level. As software engineer in our department you will be pushing our products to the limit; making sure they perform to customer expectations and conform to the highest quality standards. As part of the Quality Engineering Linux Systems Group department, which is geographically distributed team you will be involved in enabling new technologies and working with your peers to constantly strive for the best automation solutions.
In this role you will be responsible for developing test framework and tests for the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and for OpenSUSE Linux distribution. You will work in a super flexible agile team with open source technologies what fits the best to your profile.
**Responsibilities**:
- Integrate quality requirements into product development, manufacturing, and continuous improvement processes.
- Manage relationships with internal and outsourced partners for quality and product manufacturing.
- Review product designs and production activities, providing feedback and implementing solutions to enhance quality and reduce risks.
- Offer domain-specific expertise and technical leadership to cross-organization projects.
- Drive innovation and adoption of new technologies and quality initiatives.
- Mentor less-experienced staff members.
**Education and Experience Required**:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- 6-10 years of relevant experience.
**Knowledge and Skills**:
- Proficiency in engineering tools and software for testing, designing, and evaluating products and processes.
- Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with software industry quality standards.
- Ability to conduct empirical and root-cause analysis, modeling, testing methodologies, and validate product designs and processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Capability to communicate quality architectures, plans, proposals, and results effectively to senior management.
