Staff Program Manager
The MSD Strategic Partnerships Office (SPO) is looking for a Manager, Technology Partnerships. This is due to a growing portfolio of collaborations supporting our strong business growth. This team is anchored in the Advanced-Technology (AT) research function lead by the CTO of MSD. The scope and responsibilities of the SPO are worldwide and encompass collaborations and public private partnership (PPP) projects for all MSD business and R&D organizations.
The SPO mission includes: ensuring MSD is engaged in a healthy portfolio of PPP (subsidy) projects contributing to R&D activities along with providing outside-in insights to improve roadmaps; gaining long-range insights into innovation strategy and policies at regional (e.g. EU) and national levels and turning them into meaningful action; and drive a robust and efficient approach to setting up and running bilateral collaborations.
The SPO is deeply engaged with colleagues in MSD’s Semiconductor, Materials Science, Lifesciences and Software business segments along with AT, R&D and Operations, from executive level to collaboration project managers.
**How will you make an impact**:
In this position you will take a leading role to build and run the pipeline of MSD collaborations. You will do this working together with colleagues globally, including at our major locations in the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, France, and USA. Good alignment is key with various internal & external partners across business segments and innovation departments.
Partnerships include PPP initiatives, under e.g. Horizon Europe, CHIPS or IHI JUs, EUREKA or Czech national programs. Understanding the various PPP initiatives and underlying public roadmaps, identifying upcoming calls and interacting with potential partners will be important for success.

**How will you get there**:
- Identifying and/or assisting new collaborations
- Ensuring good internal decision making and efficient creation and execution of collaborations using the MSD Collaboration Process
- Scouting and initiating possibilities for new PPPs (subsidy projects), e.g. by attending brokerage events
- Coordinating and leading the engagement of Thermo Fisher in PPPs, sometimes as WP or task leader, including internal alignment, role definition, contribution to drafting proposals, timely report writing and presentation of results as-needed in (external) consortium and review meetings
**Education and Qualifications**
- Master Degree or PhD in Science, Technology or Engineering, or equivalent
**Experience**
- Proven track record in relevant functions or roles.
- Practiced in management of innovative projects, collaborations or PPPs, or similar
- Experience of Business Development and working with legal and IP departments on contracting is a plus
- Familiarity with electron microscopy will be welcome

- Excellent communicator, accustomed to work with a broad portfolio of relationships; including outside parties and with the capability to interact with (national and EU) government officials
- Ability to be effective in an international multi-site, multi-cultural, multi-time-zone environment
- Skilled in project management, explaining business rationales and concluding agreements
- Exhibits intellectual curiosity combined with emotional intelligence (EQ)
- Possess excellent verbal, presentation and written skills in English and Czech
