**Location/Division Specific Information**:
Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Applied Analytical Technology business unit has an immediate opening for a R&D Mechanical Design Engineer. If you enjoy working with a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural, and distributed team, this is the job!
A day in the Life:
- Validated ability to deliver high quality product designs. Show innovation and creativity in a fast paced, global environment.
- Knowledge of technologies such as precise machining, casting, forging, 3D printing, vacuum design, material properties, mechanical stiffness is encouraged.
- Cooperation with multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists to design components, assemblies, and processes used by the scientific instruments industry.
- Reviewing, assessing, and crafting test procedures, drawings, specifications, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), technical reports and documentation associated with design and build of components for analytical equipment.
- Keep up-to-date with new mechanics related technologies and related fields
Keys to Success:
- Ability to work with senior engineers to understand and solve design challenges.
- Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
- Curious, reliable, independent, and collaborative working style
- Support diversity in the team
- SolidWorks software knowledge is an advantage
