Ideally has a background in Sourcing, Supply Chain and/or Project Management roles, preferably in a High-Tech Systems environment with high diversity and low volumes.**The Position**:The Sourcing Project Lead or SPL is a member of the New Product Introduction (NPI) Sourcing team of the Divisional Procurement organization and leads Sourcing activities to assigned mostly R&D NPI and similar projects. The SPL participates in the projects from the phase of project initiation until start of regular production. Next to NPI projects, there will also be critical projects and special assignments related to sourcing excellence. Most of the work will be based in Brno but collaboration with sites in the Netherlands and USA will be required, travel <10% is anticipated.**Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:- Representation of Procurement in NPI project teams in early phase to secure procurement / category strategies and supply chain configurations- Builds and actively maintains relationships with Procurement colleagues in other Thermo Fisher Scientific sites as well as other departments (R&D, Product Engineering, Logistics and similar)- Coordinates, on time and with efficiency all procurement colleagues, into the execution of Make/Buy Decisions, Supply Chain Design, Suppliers Selection process, contracting, and Material Cost Management, volume ramp-up and risk buy within the projects- Defines and communicates design of Supply Chain (in agreement with Procurement Category Managers)- Supports and contributes to strategy based on requirement and Thermo Fisher Scientific make/buy strategy- Follows up on material cost targets. Ensures roadmap and long-term view on material cost- Manages escalations within project- Working in compliance with regulatory legislation and Integrated Management System (IMS)**Education**:- University degree (Mechanics/Electronics/Business/Industrial Engineering) or a combination of education and experience that demonstrate the required skills**Experience**:- Robust project management background capable to manage on time, quality and cost aspects of NPI projects- 10 years of experience of which at least 5 years in the field of NPI project management**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**:- Preferably trained in specialized Sourcing/Purchasing/Procurement skills- Technical and Functional Expertise- Good interpersonal communicative skills, with understanding of influencing without power- Collaboration and Teamwork- Building and maintaining relationships- Gets results- Can handle stress and is self-propelling- Problem solving and analysis- Pro-active approach- Continuous Quality and Performance Improvement- Disciplined and solid reporting- Negotiator- Excellent English language skills (verbal and in writing)
