TITLE: Software Engineer - Java
LOCATION: Prague, Czech Republic
Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility:
Essential Functions:- Provides estimates of work based on knowledge and experience in each work area- Writes product specifications, designs, and technical manuals.- Plans and implements testing strategies for different areas of our products internally and externally- Ensures interoperability with third party products, operating systems, and existing software- Acts as a mentor of newly hired engineers- Maintains responsibility of assigned tasks by using experience and knowledge of environment to make development decisions
Secondary Functions:
- Provides technical and non-technical presentations on the impact of changes to the solution
Team Specifics:
The Menu Management team is a brand-new team supposed to work on NCR Voyix’s portfolio of products that enables restaurant staff to service customers at their table with online connection to the cloud back office, improving ordering precision and speed of service while reducing operation cost. The entire solution includes multiple tech stacks, and this team’s focus is on backend services running in GCP dealing with digital menu management.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent- 3+ years of software engineering experience- Good Java knowledge- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills- Strong Object-Oriented analysis and design skills- English language written/spoken at B2 or higher level (CEFR)
Additional skills:
- Knowledge of Typescript- Public cloud experience (Azure / GCP) is an advantage- Experience with the Docker- Experience and orientation in CI/CD (Terraform, Helm, Flux) is an advantage- Experience with agile development
Additional requirements- EU (European Union) work and residence permit
