**Introduction**
**Location/Division **Specific Information**:
Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry division in Brno presents outstanding opportunity to join new growing team!
**A day in the Life or Responsibilities**:
- develop modules, classes and functions for the data system and user interface control of various mass spectrometry, gas chromatography, and peripheral devices and sub systems
- create software for instrument control system of mass spectrometry instruments using mainly C# /.NET. The control system includes controlling various devices, and peripherals to run scans and modify the control parameters based on the acquired data set. Bring-up code/systems in lab and test software builds
- work with the software scientist and other senior team members locally or remote to define the work product as user stories and accomplish them in agile sprints
- work with field support in solving problems and reproducing customer issues, when required
- document all the work as appropriate
**Keys to Success or Requirements**:
- great programming knowhow with C#
- data structures and basic computing algorithms including sorting and searching.
- knowledge of network communication and peripherals control
- degree in relevant technical field or equivalent professional experience with analytical devices
- 3+ years of proven experience either in industry or academic settings
- willingness to work in international teams and collaborate with user interface designers and help build prototypes followed by actual released products
- experience working in an FDA regulated / CLIA / GLP development environment desirable
- strong background in software design of systems and backend development
- traveling to Germany may be occasionally required
