For our client who is an international company in a DIY and retail segment, we are currently looking for an organized, detailed-oriented and independent candidates for the role of Senior country accountant.This position has the responsibility for the statutory country financials and overseeing the preparation of monthly financial statements in the country (e.g. balance sheets, income statements etc.). The successful candidate will be the key accounting support for the country regarding all accounting, external reporting, and internal control matters and works to make sure all local financials are reflected correctly in the ledger. Senior country accountant monitors local compliance matters and performs all local submissions such as VAT and Tax filing and local statutory accounts.The position is responsible for 2 entities: local commercial organisation and shared service organisation, reporting line is to the Accounting Manager Emerging Markets, which is located in Italy and closely co-operating with Country Sales Manager CZ&SK and HR Manager Emerging Markets (both located in Prague).The position does not have direct reports but closely co-operates with Accounts Payble and Accounts Receivables colleagues.Our ideal candidate will have a strong track record working in-house and be very experienced and comfortable with the local Czech statutory reporting rules. SAP experience is HIGHLY PREFERRED.An overview of KEY responsibilities: •Contact for the annual, year-end audit with external auditors, including preparation of audit support documents, providing status updates to the Accounting Manager, archiving the documentation, etc.•Supporting internal audit reviews conducted and covering areas of responsibilities.•Responsible for all external reporting activities, US-GAAP and statutory requirements (local Gaap & Taxes incl. VAT), environmental fees or statistical requests. Provide the Accounting Manager with the status of month-end close each day (day +1, day +2, day +3, day +4)•Inform the Accounting Manager of the status of tax declarations and other statutory reporting.•Execute internal controls to safeguard the company’s property and assets, notify the Accounting Manager immediately if there are any changes.•Ensure transparency and integrity of Region and Country financial records are maintained in accordance with local country and internal policies, procedures as well as accepted accounting practices.•Inform the Accounting manager of any changes to the local policies and procedures.•Manage the local petty cash (if applicable)•Oversee the travel expense procedures.•Manage local bank relationships.•Support implementation of procedures for accounting, monitoring consistency and compliance of all accounting procedures and all accounting activities, inform the Accounting Manager of any changes or potential gaps or risks on the procedures already in place.Požadujeme:•Relevant education, preferrable in the accounting area•Experience with statutory accounting is a must•Independent personality, highly structured and organized•Experience with SAP system is highly preferred•Fluent level of English (reporting line to Accounting Manager located in Italy)•Customer-oriented personality, great communication skillsNabízíme:•Very interesting remuneration package (base salary and annual bonus)•Highly independent work in an international environment•Hybrid work, 2 weeks/year working from “wherever”•Interesting benefits package – Cafeteria (12.000 CZK/year), 3% of the base salary for the pension fund, meal vouchers fully paid by the companyThis is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and credible Accountant to join agrowing and high-change organisation.Vzdělání:SŠ s maturitou, Vyšší odborné, Bakalářské, VysokoškolskéTyp pracovního poměru:Plný úvazek
