**Riverside International School **(Riverside) is an international schoo
l
in Prague, serving approximately 720 students from 60 nationalities. Both independent and non-profit, it is a day school offering students aged 3-18 an international approach to education in the English language. The school opened in 1994, and its curriculum is based on the British National Curriculum, with the Senior High offering IGCSEs and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. Riverside celebrated its 30th year of operation in 2024.
Located on four sites (a few kilometres apart), Riverside initially opened in the Sedlec region of Prague. From this site the Early Years, Junior High and Senior High School separated and opened in their own buildings. There is some overlap between the Junior and Senior High Schools, which are located a short distance from each other.
**The Senior High School**
**, which serves around 250 students in Years 10 through 13**, is conveniently located within 300 metres of the Junior High School. Both schools are situated in the desirable area of Prague 6, easily accessible by public transportation, being next to the tram and metro lines. Numerous restaurants, shopping centres, and services are within walking distance, making it a well-situated and accessible educational institution.
As an IB World School, Riverside offers the IB Diploma Programme and is a recognised centre for Cambridge International Education and Pearson Edexcel International IGCSEs. In addition, Riverside provides an accredited American High School Diploma. English is the medium of instruction for all lessons and examinations, qualifying students for university-level English-language study. Students consistently achieve IGCSE and IB results well above worldwide averages and are accepted into top universities in the UK, North America, and Europe each year.
