Search & Ranking Expert

You’ll spend time on the following:
- Develop and Optimize Search Algorithms: Design, implement, and continually refine search algorithms to ensure the most relevant and personalized results for Groupon users, improving search accuracy and relevance.- Enhance Ranking Systems: Develop strategies for ranking deals, products, and content to maximize visibility, user engagement, and conversion rates.- Data Analysis and Insights: Conduct extensive data analysis to understand user search behavior, identify trends, and derive actionable insights to inform search and ranking strategies.- A/B Testing and Experimentation: Design and execute A/B tests to evaluate the effectiveness of search and ranking algorithms, making data-driven decisions to optimize performance.- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and UX/UI designers to align search and ranking strategies with overall business goals and product roadmaps.- Monitor Industry Trends: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in search and ranking, leveraging this knowledge to keep Groupon at the forefront of e-commerce innovation.- Performance Metrics and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for search and ranking effectiveness, regularly reporting on progress and areas for improvement to senior management.
We’re excited about you if you have:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in search technology, algorithm development, or a related field within an e-commerce or technology company. Experience with recommender systems and understanding of ML models is a must.- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis, A/B testing, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies.- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
