Reliability Engineer

Reliability Engineer is an interdisciplinary role of engineering and engineering management focused on system design quality and reliability. In our development organization, our mission is to develop new scientific and industrial scanning electron microscopes. Such a development is happening on several hardware and software platforms and requires also platforms development and maintenance. As an electron detection specialist, you will join these development teams. Lead our detection competency, define development roadmap and cooperate with research group!
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Participation in development projects which lead to outstanding product - new electron microscope. Acting as a reliability engineer you will define and monitor key aspects affecting required system robustness, closely work with the project team. Collaboration with project management and system architects on regular basis
- Identifying and reporting on potential failures of our modules and systems using FMEA, safety risk analysis according SRA process
- Reliability analysis and prediction creation, maintenance and reporting using sophisticated statistic software
- Collaboration other R&D specialists from module development teams (mechanical, electronic, firmware and software engineering) during module integration or development
- We are also participating with our research group on innovative solutions aligned with customer expectations and future needs
**Requirements**:
The position is ideal for an experienced engineer with strong background in electronics combined with good insight in mechanics, physics and materials. Very important is the ability to define and implement practical experiments and tests.
- University degree in Engineering, Electronics, Physics or a related experience that demonstrates the required skills
- Proven experience with design reliability and quality is an advantage as well as experience with software (Reliasoft, JMP, Minitab)
- Hands on experience with test techniques and problem solving processes. This position requires a multidisciplinary focus (electronics, physics, mechanical, material)
- Knowledge of electron microscopy or electron detection would be an advantage
- Confirmed experience of using software in sophisticated products with extensive hardware interactions
- Ability to work independently as well as in the multi-functional and cross-cultural teams, travel both domestically as well as internationally
- Strong communicative skills (both verbal and written)
