Principal Electronics Engineer

Our Research & Development department specializes in the development of automatic fire detection products. Our high technology products include control panels and fire detectors, combining hardware and software to provide control functions and signal processing algorithms.
Working in the fire detection field involves interesting challenges like developing high-speed systems on module, communication cards for long-range wired networks, graphical user interface displays modules as well as low-power devices.
**What you will do**
Key activities of the hardware department are to bring product from research and feasibility study phase, right through prototype stage and rigorous verification all to the way to mass production.
As a part of verification, our products go through thorough environmental and EMC testing to ensure operation in challenging environments like cruise ships, the world tallest buildings and oil rigs.
**How you will do it**
- Design electronics circuits for safety system components
- Validate prototypes, plan, and conduct climatic and EMC testing
- Work closely with other departments including mechanical design, SW/SQA
- Liaise with Factory Production Engineering and Test Engineering
- Support manufacturing during new product introduction and product continuation
- Give assistance to Field Support Department in resolving any field issues
- Liaise with suppliers and service providers, including approvals organisations
- Supervision of junior Engineers as needed
**What we look for**
- University degree in Electronics engineering or similar
- Min. of 10-year experience in Digital / Microprocessor electronics; Analogue electronics and Electronics components specification
- Experience in defining development processes
- Project management experience
- Experience in any of the following fields: EMC design; Electrical Safety; Design for production; Digital and/or Analogue Simulation tools; Embedded Software; Type testing or approvals; Design for compatibility with International Standards; Field Bus design; Fire or Security industry; Project Management
- Advanced level of verbal and written English
- Highly motivated, quick to learn
**Preferred**
- Experience in fire detection and security system
