Platform Messaging Engineer

About the role:
This is a new role in FNZ working within the wider Platform Infrastructure Services team and is technical in nature. You will be part of a team responsible for providing high quality and timely support to ensure the availability, stability and performance of our Electronic File Transfer and Messaging systems and support of the dependent platform processes.
The role will be working closely with Network and Infrastructure Engineers and Production Support Analysts.
- Build & administration of any 2 of following middleware technologies - Apache Kafka, Rabbit MQ or IBM Websphere MQ.
- Ability to script and automate tasks.
- Batch push/pull exchange of files with remote parties.
- FIX session setup, support and monitoring (Itivity).
- Understanding of clustering & HA setup of middleware technologies to build in Production. Especially Migration, Blue green deployment of RabbitMQ.
- There are several messaging technologies in use such as CREST, EMX, SWIFT but broadly similar in design and use requiring occasional support.
- Basic Biztalk platform support, responding to send/receive port alerts, orchestration, and general support activities.
- Knowledge of Splunk, SQL queries & PowerShell advantageous.
Main Requirements:
- Degree qualified or equivalent industry certifications.
- General infrastructure engineering skills and knowledge of Linux and Microsoft Server beneficial.
- Knowledge of Automation scripting in PowerShell an advantage.
- Experience delivering Project and BAU support/maintenance in a fast-paced environment supporting highly-available, large-scale, distributed enterprise infrastructure services across Europe advantageous.
- Good team player with the ability to work independently and able to take initiative, drive change and new technologies and methodologies.
- Superior problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent time-management skills
- Excellent team communication skills, confident in dealing with internal and external clients.
