Junior Operating System Software Engineer

The Red Hat Core-Services Engineering team is seeking a Software Engineer with C / C++ skills. If you have more experience with Python or Bash and you are interested in learning or improving your C/C++ skills this position will be the right challenge for you! This position is based in Brno.
What will you do- Develop, troubleshoot and debug assigned components (e.g. Sqlite embedded database) and container images in supported products (Fedora and Red Hat Enterprise Linux)-
- Collaborate with upstreams community members of the assigned projects, other development teams in Red Hat, and quality assurance team-
- Identify system deficiencies, conduct technical research and analysis, and recommend solutions or fixes-
- Take upstream projects and integrate them into the operating system using RPM technology-
- Work across project and technology boundaries to create integrated solutions based on open source projectsWhat will you bring- C or C++ development experience, or experience with Linux-based operating system administration-
- Desire to learn and solve various challenging problems-
- Good English communication skills, both written and verbalThe following are considered a plus- Bash, Python knowledge is an advantage-
- Solid understanding of operating system principles, including software packagingExperience with Open Source development model-
- Practical experience of SQL Databases or Linux containers is an advantage#LI-KS1
