Engineering Manager (IT Support)
We are a growing team, developing world leading game-based military simulations for major NATO powers and their allies. We are constantly looking for ways to advance the whole industry, using the latest technologies and trends (such as whole world simulation, virtual reality and motion tracking).
The IT support team is a globally distributed team supporting BISim’s users by managing technology such as desktops, laptops, productivity tooling, and HR systems. As the team’s manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that they are enabled to deliver an excellent service to users. You will prioritise operational effectiveness, relationships with other teams, and constantly analyse the needs of internal customers to drive improvements to our processes and systems. (This is not a hands-on role, but we are looking for someone from a technical background and who keeps themselves up to date with industry knowledge)
**What you will be doing**:
- Leading and managing the IT Support Team
- Constantly assessing our technology stack, seeking opportunities for improvement
- Prioritising work, ensuring a balance of user support and enhancement projects
- Defining and tracking metrics for the team and the systems that they support
- Collaborating with other teams at BISim to ensure that customer needs are being met
- Managing team & equipment budgets and purchasing
- Mentoring and coaching your team
**We’d like you to have experience of**:
- Data-driven decision making in an IT support capacity
- Windows Administration including Active Directory
- The general technical landscape of IT systems such as IAM and MDMs
- Agile project management methodologies
- Leading an IT support or similar team in a large (300+ person) organisation
**Bonus points for experience with**:
- Systems Engineering
- Network Engineering
- User-facing security tooling and processes
- Mac and/or Linux management
- Have a user-first mindset
- Enjoy mentoring colleagues and have a drive to help people improve their knowledge
- Like the challenge of working with diverse teams across the business
- Can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues, including senior management
