Engineering Manager - Eaton Research Labs

**Location**:Prague - Roztoky**
**What you’ll do**:
- Lead and expand the team of engineers developing cutting edge power electronics and energy systems products and solutions.
- Profit Planning preparation and cotrolling for the ERL team
- Team capacity planning, assigning engineers to project tasks as required by the project planning;
- Manage active projects, deliverables and manage communication to stake holders in the company. Be a point of contact for business projects with the responsibility for creating, executing and tracking all the milestones.
- Monitor electronics engineering activities and demonstrate start-finish ownership for the assigned projects and tasks by utilizing Eaton internal project execution processes, including design and technical reviews and presentations.
- Plan for future projects as well as sustain existing projects; monitor and report overall performance of responsible projects. Responsible for periodic Project Status Reports, Quarterly Reports and other reports using specified reporting processes.
- Define, acquire, and upgrade as necessary lab/experimental infrastructure necessary to execute the projects. Support the team in the preparation of capital appropriation requests.
- Hiring, people management, career development and coaching;
- Create, institute and maintain best practices in the team to build a high-performance team with cutting edge expertise;
- Lead external partnerships with universities and research organizations in order to bring to Eaton outside technologies and best practices.
- Lead government funding opportunities and execute joint projects.
- Position requires up to 20% travel domestic and international."
**Qualifications**:
- MSC/MIng degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, from an accredited university.
- 7 years of technology development team management, in power electronics designs and product development and/or energy systems related area.
**Skills**:
- "Expertise in some of the following areas: power converter topologies, Motor Drive technology, high-power electronics; electric machines and controls; electrification of transport, energy storage, and grid connected converters; alternative power generation and distribution.
- Experience in modeling power converters and power systems using simulation tools (example: MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, Simplorer, PSIM and/or PSCAD).
- Appreciation for the trade-offs necessary to achieve designs that meet performance requirements and cost objective solutions.
- Proven track record in new technology development"
- Demonstrated expertise in the following areas: Energy Systems, Power Electronics for Electrical Vehicles charging; high-power density electronics; energy storage; alternative power generation and distribution; power systems and electric machine controls; EV converters and traction drives and more electric aircraft."
