Developer Community Manager
**Who are we looking for?**:
- You have 3+ years of experience in community building, ideally at another tech startup with a thriving developer community.
- Youre great at patiently communicating with developers. You understand their unique needs and empathize with them thanks to your own understanding of how software works...
- ...and you enjoy acting on that by preparing webinars, content, and other activities to help boost engagement.
- You understand community feedback, can put yourself in the mindset of our users, and advocate for their needs. You are the eyes and ears of our product managers.
- You know how to plan and run successful webinars, panel discussions, and product demos.
- You are highly organized, can multitask, and work across multiple teams.
- You have excellent written and verbal skills in English.
- Any technical background is a big plus, either in formal third-level education or in the trenches of another tech company.
- Experience with Discord, Reddit, and other community platforms is also a big plus.
**What you will be doing**:
- Cultivating a sense of trust, care, well-being, inclusiveness, and belonging in our developer community.
- Moderating, listening to, and engaging with our community members and providing them with whatever support and resources they need.
- Identifying sources of churn in the community and coming up with creative ways to reduce it.
- Providing community insights, updates, and guidance on ways to engage with our community.
- Engaging with our community on our own channels as well as with the wider web scraping and web automation community.
- Working with other team members and in cross-team collaboration to produce events (offline/online), competitions, and other projects that will drive engagement.
- Developing and implementing internal and external community advocate (influencer/KOL) programs to motivate and incentivize top community contributors.
- Helping to organize marketing and educational events, both online and offline.
- Taking on increasing responsibility over time for campaigns and special projects.
- Periodically conduct detailed discovery meetings, collect requirements, and gain a mutual understanding of community needs.
- Helping to create customer references and case studies.
**By the end of the first 3 months, we expect you to**:
- ** Familiarize Yourself with the Apify Community**: Gain a deep understanding of our developer community, including their common interests, challenges, and the unique aspects that make our community thrive.
- ** Establish Communication Channels**: Begin actively engaging with our community across various platforms. This includes initiating conversations, responding to queries, and moderating discussions to foster a positive and inclusive environment.
- ** Conduct Initial Community Analysis**: Identify key metrics for community engagement and start tracking them. Understand the sources of churn and brainstorm initial strategies to reduce it.
- ** Collaborate on Event Planning**: Work with the team to plan and execute at least one webinar or online event. This will help you get a feel for the communitys response to educational and engaging content.
- ** Develop Relationships Across Teams**: Start building relationships with product managers, marketing, and other relevant teams to understand how community feedback can be integrated into our broader strategy.
- ** Initiate a Community Feedback Loop**: Establish a process for collecting and analyzing community feedback, ensuring that the voices of our users are heard and considered in product development.
**By the end of the first 6 months, we expect you to**:
- ** Drive Community Engagement**: Implement creative strategies and activities that boost engagement, reduce churn, and foster a sense of belonging among community members.
- ** Lead Community-Driven Projects**: Take charge of organizing and executing major community events, such as webinars, panel discussions, and product demos, with measurable success in terms of participation and satisfaction.
- ** Influence Product Development**: Act as a bridge between the community and product teams, ensuring that community feedback is effectively communicated and considered in product development.
- ** Develop Advocate Programs**: Create and implement internal and external community advocate programs to recognize and incentivize top contributors in the community.
- ** Report on Community Insights**: Regularly provide insights and updates to the team on community engagement, highlighting successes, areas for improvement, and the impact of community initiatives on overall business goals.
- ** Expand Your Role**: Start taking on more responsibility for larger campaigns and special projects, demonstrating your ability to manage complex tasks and deliver results.
