**Location**: Prague, Czech Republic and Spain, Madrid
The Development Manager will manage regional development plans for lead generation, new business development and franchise sales activities. Lead the regional development team to coach and train the Territory Directors, BDs and MFZs for the region to achieve the goals set by the Company. Act as Development Job Manager coaching and training all regional development staff in the areas of BD, MFZ and MUO recruitment, lead generation, franchise sales, coaching and guiding BDs on all aspects of increasing and successfully completing franchise sales. Support Master Franchisees in specific countries, making sure that their opening and closure schedules are followed, managing forecasting and any other ad hoc needs from the master franchisees. Support the New Business Development liaising with potential corporate partners or master franchisees, supporting the strategic development of the territory.
**Development Budgeting, Forecasting and Execution**: At the beginning of the year agree on the development goals of the region with the Territory Director and support the annual budgeting process. Request per region, country and territory a development activity plan with specific details for BD and master franchisee markets. Follow up with the development specialists via meetings and/or conference calls throughout the year. Facilitate follow up meetings as needed, communicate and follow up with the development staff and Territory Director those markets that might fall behind in their development plan. Based on these inputs, update the forecast with the support of the coordinator for the territory.
**New Business Development**: Work on building a pipeline for qualified prospects for master franchising, MUO corporate partners or franchisees. With leadership alignment, engage in first communication and follow up meetings as needed to screen and qualify prospects. Prepare information, data, and presentation materials as needed to support negotiations, conduct necessary due diligence, review business plans and assess qualifications to assist with leaderships decision. Travel internationally as needed to work tradeshows or attend field meetings. Identify and prioritize tradeshows in areas, arrange face to face meetings with prospects before trip, make travel arrangements, etc. Analyze opportunities for growth & identify target markets to place advertising, determine effective media, direct development of ad, and ensure proper delivery of ad, track results.
**Master franchising support**: Build effective relationships with master franchisees, working closely with their respective development departments and following up on their development plans, keeping our records up-to-date. Understand and advise on their development strategy, including potential use of market mapping tools, utilizing different development channels (non-traditional gas stations, etc.), and alternative store formats (drive-thru, ghost kitchens, etc.) as needed. Closely monitor their development schedule progress for potential shortfalls against their MFA or our internal budget/forecast targets and devise action plans to remedy any issues.
**Coaching and developing people, managing stakeholders**: Coach & lead the direct team of coordination, while also supporting other areas in the organization. Liaise with EMEA & Global development team to support the projects & execution in the territory.
**Lead opening compliance**: Follow up and ensure that the stores opened in master franchisee or non-master franchisee territories comply with Subway standards, with the support of Coordination and Operations teams.
