**ABOUT THE GPO CATEGORY AND SUB-CATEGORY**
The Professional Services Category / Travel Team is part of the Global Procurement Organization and provides excellent business partnering to our internal and external stakeholders. The category is responsible for the definition and execution of global sourcing strategies and the respective Governance model in close collaboration with business owners, Legal, Controlling, as well as for effective stakeholder
- and supplier management across the globe.
Focus Areas of SAP’s Travel Services are Travel Management Company, Hotel Program, Air Program, Traveler Engagement, Ground Transportation, Car Rental, Travel Policy & Governance, Service & Support, Process, Visa, Online Booking and Expense for any Travel related services.
The Category Buyer for Travel Services will support the respective Category Manager and the implementation of the category strategy. Besides procurement-related tasks she / he will be responsible for Stakeholder Management including Demand Management and act as procurement leader & trusted business partner for all LoB representatives. This includes monitoring market trends and alignment on business requirements to ensure, that the procurement strategy perfectly fits.
An integral part of the job will be the coordination and execution of key strategic travel management initiatives as well as professional supplier relationship management.
**EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS**
- Act as consultant and trusted business value enabler for key stakeholders, regional and local CFOs and understand and determine business requirements.
- Collaborate with peers and category managers.
- Seek continuously opportunities for improvements, innovations, and savings.
- Perform market analyses / benchmarking and explore market capabilities to gain market intelligence.
- Interact with Regional and local Market Travel Operations, Suppliers & Business Partners.
- Collaborate and communicate with local markets, facilitating global governance, setup, guidelines, processes, procedures.
- Lead tactical ownership of selected strategic relevant elements of the travel program, constantly improve and challenge status quo.
**EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES**
- Solid knowledge and expertise in business travel management (Large Enterprise) required.
- Strong customer focus, presentation skills and business acumen.
- Highly developed collaboration and communication skills.
- Open-minded and willing to drive change.
- Profound Project Management expertise.
**WORK EXPERIENCE**
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in global and multinational organizations.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience and knowledge in the Business Travel Mgmt. area including managing of business travel related services, implementing, and executing global strategies.
- Ability to establish clear priorities and effectively manage multiple demand and time resources.
- Experience working in a fast-paced complex environment, ideally from a Services Technologies background.
